This project is about folding 50 pieces of paper into different shapes, taking 50 photos of the top 3 of my liking and choosing the best one while writing an evaluation overall. This will be the blog that will tell you about the journey into finishing and choosing the best in my opinion.
Process

I first started of with cutting 50-60 pieces of paper that were around 100mm x 100mm in size. I didn't start with looking at any inspiration but instead, I just grabbed one and shaped it on my own. I had 2 folded paper but then eventually lost motivation and took a very long time before I decided to start folding again.

The second time I started folding, I went on the internet to look for examples that I could maybe based my folds on.
- These were my first two folds

These are the 50 and more folds that I have created with 100mm x 100mm pieces of papers. Some of these were made with the help of the internet, however, a lot of the folded paper are just some shape that I randomly folded. There were time were I couldn't find anymore design on the internet and I was sort of running out of ideas. Something that I found help with creating more pieces is just going back to simple shapes and folds rather than making things complicated.
One of the top 3 picks is actually just made of easy folds and not very complicated but is still able to stand out.
My top 3

This fold is very different from the rest of the designs as it's not made of literal fold but instead, the curved part were just pinched to maintain its shape. Unlike the rest of the folds, this is the only one that is curved. Although, due to the curves, it was quite difficult to make as I had to be precise with the pinching even had to draw on part that needed to be pinch.

My second one would be this. It looks very symmetrical and so balance. It was also very simple to make and the final looks very clean and sharp in my opinion.

Lastly, I have chose this fold as it had both a square and a triangle that is clearly showing. Like the second one, this wasn't complicated to make and is also symmetrical. When I ran out of ideas, this was one of the folds that helped me realize that simple folds can make different patterns which helped me create more folds using similar processes.

This is a black and white filtered photos of the three. I thought it could emphasize the shadow and the creasing of each of the folds.

I was contemplating on whether my top 2 should be the current one or this one. It might not be able to be seen but this fold was very simple but it had a lot of potential. I liked the way it folded into little squared and just the symmetry on every side. However, I still preferred the uniqueness of the current top 2.
My favourite

My favourite would really have to be the the 3rd fold. It's the fold that really helped me when I got stuck and it really stood out to me. I like the way that it contains different shapes and the patterns of it overall. It is still sort of unique and the contrast between the big square in the middle and little triangles on the side catches my eyes.
Due to the multiple creases and dents on the paper the shadows are very visible and the light hits the shape and edges very well. Because of where the lights are hitting, this fold shows a lot more details in terms of folds and line compare to the rest
